A O.C.U. reconnaissance team with Captain Royd Clive is assigned to examine the activities of a U.C.S. munitions plant. The forces are attacked by U.C.S. Wanzers. They trigger a chain of events which plunge the entire island into war. Royd's fiancee, Lieutenant Karen Meure, goes missing in action.
In the aftermath of being dismissed from the military Royd decides to explore the events that took place to Karen. The search leads him closer towards the web of conspiracy behind the event and the operatives who have orchestrated the incident.
With an array of characters to get to know, its mature story and non-Manichean-based protagonists Front Mission is the standard of a tactical Japanese RPG that is finally being made widely available.
